A Frightened Widow, A Hardened Sheriff

With the coming of fall, I always think of changing leaf colors, the bright and glorious shades of red, orange, and yellow that fill the trees. However, living in Florida we don’t see much if any beautiful colors in our trees (But we do have amazing tropical palms ).

So my thoughts go to one of my favorite places in the world, the Smoky Mountains. Colors there in the fall are so dazzling, you think you’re looking at a painting. Biff and I like to go in late October and early November, and we have seen some incredible displays of colors.

If you can’t go to the mountains this fall, why not get there through books? Let me recommend Tennessee Waltz and Tennessee Shuffle.
